Prologue :-

Deep in the abyss lay the beleaguered Argus, disentangled from the tangible realm in a space of perceptual disengagement. For the hundred eyes of Panoptes saw only as far as the light shone. The hundred eyes did not seek, rather, it was subject to that which sought. For what lay then in the darkness could not be seen, not for the lack of light or a scarcity of eyes, rather for what lay in the dark was that which was yet to been seen. As the melancholic gestures of the shepherds lute then sent to slumber the son of Arrestor, it was there where the iridescence of harmony revealed to him the subterfuge of the lute. It was the instantiation of that structure where the polytonic sequences came to permeate his very sensibilities, the eyes now but receptacles to the harmonic discrepancies in organized sound. That which lurked in the shadowy depths of the subterranean caves chose to stay there for it was only there where it could come to be. For Thanatos lay but in wait, it was in this land of Hypnos where the hundred eyes came then to see; the previous veil of concealment being but a necessary precondition of a now perpetual unconcealment.
